Vincent Lecavalier has been stuck at forty nine goals for three games now. I think he is starting to press a little so he can get the milestone behind him. Tuesday night against Florida, he probably should have had at least three goals, possibly four. He made some incredible moves that pulled Eddie “the Eagle” Belfour out of position and wide open nets on several scoring chances. Unfortunately he didn’t convert any of them, shots he makes 9.9 times out of ten. He’ll get there, but I hope they start winning and make the playoffs.

I went to the Lightning game Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators. I was hoping to see Vincent Lecavalier score his 50th goal of the season, but true to form, the Sens kicked our ass again. In all fairness, the Bolts did split the season series with the Senators, which I think is the first time Tampa Bay has done that.
Now my Lightning are killing me. They have had some good opportunities to seize first place in their division a went on a two game losing streak. Fortunately, everyone they needed to loose are losing, so they are still in the hunt. But please, will a goaltender please stand up?

Recently I was talking to my boss, and I noticed she had what looked like one of those designer or custom pens. I asked her if that was a Mont Blanc? Of course it was. I could not imagine spending $10 on a pen, let alone a few hundred bones. I’m a Papermate kind of guy. I loose pens faster than a chick looses her dress on a prom date.

I’m getting to an age where guys start losing their hair or going gray. Fortunately for me, I started getting gray hair when I was 17, it really kicked in when I met the Wife! I don’t think I’ll have to worry about losing my hair, going bald or anything. No need to be tempted with hair replacement gimmicks or even worse, the dreaded comb over! What are guys thinking when they do the comb over? Dude, just shave it off, buy a lollipop and pretend you’re Kojak. Who loves you, baby?
original six
My mother in law went to Chicago this month and brought back a souvenir for my son. An official hockey puck, with the logos of the Original Six on it. I was explaining to him who the Original Six are, when it occurred to me, on our summer vacation we will be visiting three of the Original Six cities. Detroit, Toronto and Montreal. Pretty cool, and we are planning to go to the Hall of Fame in Toronto.

When Wife had her yard sale last week, we made a neat discovery at the local WalMart - all sorts of fancy yard sale signs and posts to put them on. Before this, we’ve always made homemade signs on a piece of cardboard and nailed them onto a telephone pole. This time, we bought a few fancy yard sale signs and the stakes for them (which had a sticky area to attach to the sign) and a few yard markers to let the shoppers know exactly where the sale was…

This time of year I always get the bug to go out and buy a motorcycle. The weather is so beautiful right now, I see bikes all over the road, as I drive the back roads to work. I always see the guys wearing sunglasses, I just wonder if they are motorcycle sunglasses or just plain old shades. Either way, I’ll probably be wearing a helmet if I ever get a bike.

Sunday night I am going for a sleep study to see if I have sleep apnea. I know a lot of guys my age start taking the blue genie, Viagra. Chicks seem to dig it, too. But I think my wife would rather me take a pill that would stop my snoring! If they came out with one of those, she’d be all over it, no matter the color.

With spring in the air, and the Masters right around the corner, I’ve got the itch to pull out the golf clubs and start hacking again. My son has been after me to go to the driving range because I haven’t taken him in awhile. I think on my next day off, we will have to go hit some balls. The little guy has his own set of clubs even!

Ouch, my Lightning are riding a three game skid, thanks in large part to goaltending. In January, Johan Holmquist was very solid in net while the Lightning were on a hot streak. That seems to have disappeared. The Bolts made up a 16 point deficit in the standings to take over first place. However, this losing streak has dropped them six points out of first.
