sales software

Something I have found to be true is that the more organized I keep myself at work, the more successful I am. One thing that I can’t stand is when people are late for appointments (Wife can testify to this).

I found this site aimpromote.com that offers CRM software to help keep yourself organized. This stuff looks like it would be great for sales people, ever been kept waiting by a Realtor? Some cool features are schedule trackers with pop up reminders and fields that highlight in different colors to remind you of calls or appointments that are coming due or are past due. Plus, the site offers support to help with utilizing and implementing the software. So when things go wrong, you still have an IT person to blame it on! Sweet.

I heard about this site that any sports fan will want to check out, it’s called SportsMemorabilia.com. It’s exactly what it sounds like, autographed photos and gear of your favorite players. There are some items with some eye-popping prices on them, for instance a Joe DiMaggio signed baseball for over $2000.

SportsMemorabilia.com has stuff from all the major sports so they probably have something on their site that would interest you. Although, I have never really understood the whole sports autograph market. What makes a person willing to pay X number of dollars for a picture signed by someone? I can see if it is something like $50 or $100 where you are not talking about extreme amounts of cash. But north of $100 is hard to understand. Despite that, while I was at SportsMemorabilia.com, I couldn’t find anything by Vincent Lecavalier - I’ll need to keep checking back for something. That be a cool addition to my son’s Lightning themed bedroom.

Came across an interesting site touting a drug rehab program today, and it had a blog. I was interested because the site and the program is affiliated with Scientology. For those of you who don’t know, I live in Tampa, and there’s a very large Scientology community in Clearwater, just a few miles from here. The rehab program is something called Narconon, and it is drug and medication free. The program uses teaches people new skills for dealing with the issues that brought on their drug abuse or alcoholism, and has a high rate of drug rehabilitation success. It doesn’t treat people for a disease, but teaches people how to live free of drug addiction. The whole thing is kind of fascinating, because it differs so much from other drug rehab programs.

Wife’s laptop is provided to her by her job, and I don’t really use it, but I do know that her company takes care of all her virus protection. I get frustrated when I go on the laptop upstairs to surf the net, and find a lot of popups and junk installed on it. I know my kids don’t really know any better, and they’re a little too young to understand about spyware and not downloading things from certain websites. A good virus scan is just what we need to get rid of the junk on that laptop, and you can get a free Norton virus scan online! It’s easy to use and Norton is a great antivirus product - we’ve used it in the past and loved it.

I like the concept of MySpace, but the site seems over run by teenagers and people looking for hookups. That’s not what I’m about. Not to worry though, because I found a site that’s like MySpace, but for geeks and those interested in science and technology. You can network with others interested in technology and gadgets, share photos, get paid for sharing relevant content, find sci-fi fans, make new friends, and reconnect with old friends. The community is brand new and growing, and it’s the coolest social networking site I’ve seen in a while. I love that you can avoid most of the junk that you’ll find at MySpace, but still have that kind of networking available to you.

find a notary

You don’t need a notary that often in life…but when you do, how do you find one? We’ve needed things notarized in the past year a lot more - moving and putting the kids in new schools, you’ll have a lot more papers to sign in an official capacity. My daughter’s music teacher is a notary, so it was easy to use her, but we moved away from that area and don’t know of one in our new town. Here’s a website that makes it simple - find a notary. You can search state by state to find one in your area. Definitely a lot easier than asking people or using the yellow pages.

Wife is planning a garage sale in 2 weeks, and one of the items we’re finally parting with is the hand cart I have for golfing. Wife gave it to me years ago, and I never even used it - it’s still in the box, unopened. I rarely walk when I play a full 18 holes, so I never needed it. It’s fun to drive the cart! Clearing out some of my old golf stuff, including the cart and some kids clubs our kids are too big for, got me to thinking about replacing some of the golf supplies I do use. We recently got Dick’s Sporting Goods in the area, and I like what they have to offer. Their online selection can’t be beat. I found some awesome Dick’s Sporting Goods deals online at Coupon Chief, like an offer for free shipping on golf apparel. You gotta look good on the links! I need a new golf hat too, my old one got lost in our last move.

budget planning

Wife and I are planning a family vacation to Canada, and we found a killer deal on airfare for the family. As a person who had a lot of debt at one point, I am usually not inclined to charge things like that. But in this case, I know I have a bonus coming in a few months, and I can pay off the airfare before vacation. With the budget planning help we’ve found online, we’re ok with charging a few things, because we have a plan for paying the cards off right away. So far, it’s working. If you want budget planning help, it’s easy to find tips online to how to draw up a budget, set money aside for debt, and most importantly, how to use your budget to get OUT of debt. We went through credit counseling and it helped a lot, but we don’t plan to do it again. That’s why we think about things like using the charge card to buy airfare before we do it.

In this day and age, I consider myself fortunate to work for a company that provides great benefits and a fantastic retirement plan. Even though I have a company funded retirement plan, I still invest my own money in my future. Mozdex.com is a site I found that helps connect you with C.F.P’s, certified financial planners.

At Mozdex.com, you can find information on how to choose a financial planner that’s right for you. For instance, you’ll learn that you first need to identify your greatest need in financial guidance. It’s not always about investing. Also, Mozdex.com provides provides links to connect you to financial advisors in your area. So you can identify what you think your greatest need or guidance is, and then search by expertise. This site provided me with some great information. It’s stuff I know the Wife and I can use when we are ready to make another investment.

Wife has been hard at work on some new things for one of her blogs. One thing she put together this week was a free link directory at GeekySpeaky. If you have a blog or a website, you can submit your link for free and that will eventually help to increase your PR - I’m telling you - wife is a smart cookie.
