Wife is quite broken hearted that Brad Richards has been traded to the Dallas Stars. I’m just disappointed they didn’t make it further in the conference this year, but at least Brad’s new team did. Speaking of which, did you see the player take the puck to the face? You’ve got to wonder what the owners of hockey teams are paying to provide their players with health insurance. You can bet that they’re health insurance rates are not the cheapest, but their coverage must be phenomenal. Every other game someone needs stitches to their face or head! Or how about poor Dan Boyle who cut his hand on a skate during on of the first games this season? The tendon was sliced and the injury put him on the bench…you’ve got to wonder if the team had to go researching new health insurance quotes after that injury.
And speaking of that, I wonder if players insure their own bodies to protect themselves?

Last night the boys dropped their sixth game in a row, and this one falls squarely on the goalie. After a good start to the season, Holmquist’s five hole has been violated almost as much as Jenna Jameson’s. For whatever reason, the pucks just seem to squeeze through.

I had the day off today, so I did my usual routine, drop the kids off at school and go to my greasy spoon for breakfast. Man, it was such a beautiful day today, I just had to take my motorcycle for a ride. Absolutely picture perfect weather. I went to riding to a Harley dealer and another place to look at some riding gear. All I can say is the Harley stuff is way overpriced. I did find some nice riding jackets and boots at the Longrider store.

Wow, what a Saturday night! Got new tires on my car tonight. Went to mum in laws for dinner and got home just in time to watch some sports. The Lightning were on at 7:30 against Atlanta. The Bolts played an outstanding game and are looked really sharp. Brad Richards found the net twice, once on a super sweet short handed goal. Vaclav Prospal also scored twice, and picking up where he left off last season, Vincent Lecavalier scored another goal for his third one of the season. Looks like he is on pace to meet my preaseason prediction of 64 goals. More impressive than his scoring, is the aggression Lecavalier is playing with, and just throwing big hits. Love it Live!

Sunday night I was supposed to hook up the guys, as one of our buddies is returning to his home in Japan where he is a professor. We were supposed to make a nudie bar run, but it looks like everyone has a case of drag ass and it will be canceled. Too bad. He’ll be back in town in a year…

When Wife and I left the house to go to the school board meeting, it was a beautiful evening. Sun was out, but going down. It was still about 90 degrees. No clouds. We decided it would be a nice night to take the motorcycle. Champion choice - a beautiful ride to the board meeting!
When the meeting ended, which lasted longer than I anticipated, we went to Applebee’s for dinner. After meeting some hot momthere from our school, I noticed the weather getting bad, so off we went. As soon as we got to the stop light, the monsoon came. It was my first drive in the rain! It was only six miles and even at 80 degrees, I got cold quick. What a night…a couple of firsts in one night.

Well, now that the Hockey Dad is back talking sports, I’ve got to share with everyone something I started doing in April. It’s been a life long dream of mine, one difficult to achieve living in Florida, but here it is. I started playing ice hockey. And what a blast! I’ve always been able to ice skate, but not hockey skate. Now I can, but as any of you who play know, the hips and core feel it the next day.
I tried some new sports creme called Freeze It, to help with my aches and pains. It does a great job on them. I applied it to my elbow (I took a hard hit there during hockey practice) and it feels like a deep heating rub, and really works fast. But one of the things I like the most about it is the way it applies. It looks like an aloe gel, so it is not all thick and goopy like some cremes, and it doesn’t smell bad like some of those other cremes and rubs either. Plus, a little bit goes a long way.
Wednesday night is my hockey night and since we are the last group on the ice for the night, we usually get about 15-20 minutes of extra ice time for free. Which is great, but it just means more hard skating. Tomorrow morning I’ll be using my Freeze It again!
Thanks, Freeze It! Can I get a deal if I get my hockey team to start buying Freeze It in bulk? Free Freeze It for life?
more thanks
