I’ve been blogging since September or so, and I’ve been blogging for PayPerPost since December. Once I saw that it was legit, and wife was getting paid daily using it, I decided to give it a try as well. So far I have been paid $289.92, and I have another $369.38 coming to me. Not bad for a little part time side blogging action. And considering we have 2 kids going to the orthodontist for consultations this month, the money will definitely come in handy.

There are lots of PayPerPost imitators popping up all over the internet, but PayPerPost seems to have the biggest reach of all of the paid blogging sites. They’ve definitely cornered the market on
blog marketing - they’ve built a community, they have more new advertisers coming in daily, and they have a lot of bloggers working for them. I’m not involved in their forums or blog too much - I leave that to the wife - but I do enjoy writing about things and being paid for them. Who wouldn’t like that? I depend on wife to keep me abreast of all the latest news and goings on with PayPerPost. I am going to keep on blogging with them for as long as I can….it’s only a matter of time before our youngest is being sent to the orthodontist!

On Thursday, my son got sent to the principals office for inappropriate language or “gestures” and was “fined” $50 in school money. The inappropriate gesture was he and a classmate were looking at a picture of a monster in a book and my son made a nose picking gesture on the page. The classmate told the substitute teacher and he got sent to the principals office. Second graders never pick noses. Good thing he didn’t fart.

dinner out

Wife and I had a nice dinner out last night. Outback and Carino’s had 2 hour waits, so we said screw it and went to Applebee’s. Not my first choice, but it was ok. We had a good time and good service and that’s all that counts. I was the star of the show when I brought her present into the restaurant - a jewelry box she picked out plus a little bling bling for the inside. Yeah, who’s the man?

orthopaedic surgeon

When my oldest was about 5, we took her to an orthopaedic surgeon for a consult. No, she didn’t need a knee replacement or anything serious, but we did need some advice. You see, she walked on her tip toes, all the time. No matter what we did, she wouldn’t stop walking on her tip toes. We took her to the orthopaedic surgeon to make sure she didn’t need surgery (she didn’t, thankfully) and to find out what we could do. His solution was to create small plastic braces that could be worn inside her shoes and under her socks. They helped her to keep her feet flat when she walked, and they stretched out those muscles in her calfs, which were tight from not being used.

An orthopaedic surgeon like the guy we saw, or Dr. Allen Gustafson can help patients old or young. We were happy to avoid surgery with my daughter, but we would have done it if an expert board-certified doctor would have recommended it as the only solution.

My son finished his hockey season back in the beginning of November, so the skates have been sitting in the hockey bag for a while. Last weekend, I decided to take the kids ice skating since it had been a while, and it was good to get back on the ice. Daddy even took a fall and got all wet, which of course, gave the kids a big laugh.

My son will start playing again for his team in February.

Everyone liked the gifts they received for Christmas. Santa brought the kids Playstation 2, which was a big hit. However, I think the Wife spent the most time playing it, but she was getting a bit frustrated with her Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. She was having trouble getting past the first stage. She’ll get it though…

hectic house

It’s been crazy around our house. I finished my Christmas shopping for the wife, and wrapped the presents. Now we’re just cleaning up the house and getting ready for company. The biggest challenge has been the rooms of the two youngest kids. We hauled our 3 bags of trash last night from our sons room, and it looks like a different room. Next up is my middle daughters room. She’s got who knows how much junk under her bed. I can’t wait for the fun.

I just dropped off our new Explorer at Circuit City to have an overhead DVD player installed. It should be ready around 2 pm. I can’t wait to see the finished product and the kids will love it. I bought an Audiovox shuttle. It has a 10.2 inch screen, which is the second largest that Ciricuit City had, and is portable! The screen snaps in the drop down bracket, so you can remove the screen and play it in your house or hotel room if you have the shuttle base. This will be great on our next family trip!
