flying the friendly skies

I heard this funny story on the radio today. At first, it was hard to believe, but I was able to confirm it online at a VERY dependable news source, bangedup.com. Recently on a red eye Northwest Airlines flight, a male passenger moved to a vacant seat next to a female passenger who was asleep. Allegedly, he groped her and woke her. Upon waking, she felt a warm sticky fluid on her back! Classic! Unfortunately, we are flying on NWA this summer. Think I’ll make the Wife sit on the aisle!

trip to o-town

I love staying in Orlando. We live just over an hour away from Disney and the rest of Orlando and I love going there. Orlando hotels are located close to everything, so you will not get lost getting to the hotel or going somewhere from the hotel. However, you must be on guard for the traffic around Orlando and be prepared to sit. If you are attending an event at the O-rena, get there early or you will not find parking. Despite those few draw backs, which you will encounter in any big city, Orlando is a fun place to visit. Good theme parks for the tourists, good night life for the fun seekers, and good “clubs” for the guys. Beautiful. O-town is a can’t miss.

Have you heard about this huge man made island in Dubai? It’s called “The Palm Dubai” and it’s being built on the Dubai coast, which is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is also the self-declared ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. Each of the islands are being built in the shape of a palm tree, and they will have hotels, villas, apartments, marinas, shopping, theme parks, dining, spas, and malls. That’s an amazing piece of dubai property! Could you imagine vacationing there? Or living there?

I’ve gone to Las Vegas each year for the last couple of years on my annual “guys trip.” Whenever I go there, it seems it never fails that either the inflight magazine or the newspaper has an article about how hot the Las Vegas real estate market is. I can appreciate that, living in Tampa and having just gone through a boom here. I’m thankful I have a job that allows me to afford a decent home in the midst of a boom.

The toughest part of any vacation is planning it. Wife and I have been trying to plan a special getaway for our eleventh anniversary of marital bliss. We can’t decide what to do. We are considering backpacking Europe, a European cruise, or just doing a nice stay in Rome. Can’t decide. I think we should skip it all, and have a special night in a nice hotel when we go to my 20 year dinner award ceremony at my work

I’ve been to Las Vegas quite a few times on guys trip, and I love the city. It’s an amazing place to experience. I’ve never taken Wife out there, but if she were to go, she wants to stay at the Luxor. I guess she likes the idea of staying in a modern day pyramid.

Luxor Las Vegas has a new game inspired by their adult show, Fantasy - Check Out Luxor’s Fantasy. You can see a video of the girls in the show there, and check out the game too, if you’re not distracted by the girls. I’m not sure if wife would want to see this show, but I would!

what to see?

Wife and I are really interested in going to Europe again soon, but we’re not sure what to see. We’ll have a limited amount of time, so should we focus on the north? Denmark, Russia, Norway? Should we head south and visit Italy and Spain? I’d love to go east and see Turkey and Bulgaria. I know there are deals to be had in former Communist countries…when I went to Romania a few years ago we were amazed at how cheap everything was! Located on the Black Sea, Bulgaria has beautiful beaches on the coast, and great skiing in the mountains near Sofia. By the time we get to Europe, Bulgaria will be a member of the EU as well, and we’ll be able to use Euro’s there. I predict it will become one of the next European hot spots - with property in Bulgaria being so affordable, people will snap it up quickly! I know I would if I were closer.

disney deals

One of our families favorite vacation getaways is Disney. We are always on the lookout for great deals and packages for Disney. The Orlando area has so much too offer in the way of vacations. We have used Orlando for cruise packages as it is only 55 minutes from the cruise terminal at Port Canaveral. Also, as a golfer there are some absolutely beautiful courses in the Orlando area and very close to the tourist attraction. Personally, I have played two of the Disney Championship courses and they are outstanding. Plus, you can always find deals on family activities. Dinner shows, passes to theme parks, sightseeing and the list goes on. The Disney World packages with tickets are a good deal, especially for out of towners when you figure a single day ticket to one park is $60+. Plus, staying on Disney property is nice because you can take buses from your resort to any Disney theme park. Also, you know your room will always be right, because Disney keeps it tight.

clooney the stud

George Clooney is a total stud. He’s got a great film career with movies with Ocean’s Eleven (don’t bother with Twelve, or the upcoming release of Ocean’s Thirteen) O Brother, Where Art Thou, and from From Dusk Till Dawn. He’s played a gay dog on South Park and a doctor on ER. And he’s a total guy, living the bachelor life with a pot bellied pig, dating tons of hot chicks, but never settling down. One of top of all that, he’s got two villas worth a couple of million each on Lake Como in Italy. If I had bank like that, I’d buy Property in Calabria (the toe of Italy’s boot) and spend my days wining and dining the local hotties my beautiful wife.

We’re only about 1 1/2 hours from Disney World, and being the family guy that I am, we go there a lot, even if it’s not my most favorite place to visit. Wife and the kids love it, so I go along for the ride. We do always have a good time. Since we’re so close, we have passes to all of the Orlando area theme parks, and we stay all over the place - sometimes at a Disney resort, sometimes at a hotel off site…it just depends on the kind of deal we find. One thing we’ve never done is rent a vacation house, like these Kissimmee vacation rentals. It would be nice having a private pool, plenty of bedrooms, and a kitchen for wife to make dinner in on vacation. Lots of the houses are just a few miles from Disney!
